Laser therapy can be very effective in reducing the pain and swelling of arthritis, no matter which joint is affected. For example, laser therapy works exceptionally well for hand arthritis, especially if treatments are started soon after the diagnosis. A typical athritis treatment would last 10 minutes for each joint that is afflicted. Laser therapy is not a cure for arthritis, but it does offer relief for the pain and swelling so that many patients no longer have to take medications to relieve the symptoms. Periodic maintenance treatments can keep arthritis symptoms at bay for years.
